As you can tell, this page is in-process!

Down Fold: A fold in the shade that hangs down when the shade is raised. A Down Fold does not have lift rings.

Finished Shade Length

Finished Shade Width

Flat Mount: Placing the mounting board on the wall or window trim so that the smallest dimension of the board projects, allowing the shade to lie as flat as possible against the window.

French Door Mount

Fold Depth: The length of the folds when the shade is raised.

Hybrid Mount

Inside Mount

Lift Ring Spacing: The vertical spacing between lift rings in each column of rings. The Lift Ring Spacing is twice the Fold Depth.

Lower Drop: The distance from the lowest row of lift rings to the bottom of the shade.

Outside Mount

Projected Mount: Placing the mounting board on the wall or window trim so that the widest dimension of the board projects.

Stackage:
1. the length of a Classic shade when it is pulled all of the way up.
2. the length of a Top-Down shade when it is let all of the way down.
Ideal Stackage is usually 15% to 20% of the Finished Length of the Shade.

Straight-of-Grain - the lengthwise grain (parallel to the selvage) is the most stable (least stretchy) fabric grain of your fabric. The crosswise grain (from selvage to selvage) is the next most stable and can be substituted for the lengthwise grain if it means a savings in yardage.

Up Fold: A fold in the shade that pulls up when the shade is raised. An Up Fold has lift rings.
